lights dimmed.
full of emptiness,
somber solitude,
shifty smiles.
a crucifix hangs
on the far wall--
Lord and Savior,
Angel of Mercy.
the closet door:
open but still
locked from the inside.
a skeleton of a boy
slumped inside
beholds the crucifix
with swollen eyes.
